Digital Lifestyle Outfitters on Wednesday unveiled the nanoTune for Apple’s iPod nano. The nanoTune combines an FM transmitter, FM radio and headphone amplifier in one, and costs $69.99.
The nanotune connects to the iPod nano’s dock connector and goes up its back. The features a backlit LCD display that shows you what frequency the transmitter is tuned to. Pressing the Mode button, the nanoTune becomes an FM radio, allowing you to listen to FM broadcasts on your iPod nano. One more click and it amplifies the headphone output by 25 percent.
The nanoTune also moves the headphone jack from the bottom of the iPod nano to the top. And users can switch tracks and control the iPod’s volume from the nanoTune instead.
The integrated protective case doubles as a desktop stand and features a 30-pin dock connector to attach the nanoTune to existing iPod car charges and most iPod docks.
