PowerSchool has announced the
Education Symposiums Spring Technology Series, which will focus on an effort called the Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF).
PowerSchool is a Web-based Student Information System (SIS) that helps K-12 institutions track student progress, provides parental access to grades and reports, and more.
PowerSchool is a charter member of the
Schools Interoperability Framework Association (SIFA) and is working with more than 200 customers to implement an open specification that will enable data systems used by different schools to work together. The PowerSchool SIF Agent enables schools to share data in realtime with other school systems and applications that support SIF.
The symposiums present information about SIF, and feature Dr. Mark Silzer, founding member of the SIF board, as the guest speaker. The seven-city series kicks off in Plainview, NY on April 4, 2006 and visits locations in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois, Texas and California in the weeks following.
