Ovolab on Tuesday introduced Phlink 3, a new version of their telephony software for Mac OS X. Available as a Universal Binary for Intel-based Macs, Phlink 3 sports various new features as well. Combined with a USB phone adapter, Phlink costs $149.95; upgrades from Phlink 2.x cost $39.95.
Phlink enables you to turn your Mac into a phone center, identifying inbound calls, storing voicemail, log inbound and outbound calls, and interact with other Mac applications using AppleScript.
New to this release is call snooping — recording any call that takes place on the phone line, including conference calls. A new Voice Mailbox Setup Wizard can create an unlimited number of voice mailboxes, each with their own custom greeting and e-mail address used to forward messages to.
Phlink 3 also features support for Elgato’s EyeTV PVR software. If you forget to tell EyeTV to record a show, you can call Phlink and tell it to record the show — instructing it what time to start recording and what channel to select.
