Softchaos on Tuesday announced the release of a Universal Binary version of Webstractor, its Web content capturing and processing application. Webstractor costs $79.99, and the update is free for registered users.
Webstractor makes it possible to capture Web pages, remove content you don’t want, annotate and organize the content you want to keep, and retrieve and assemble found materials.
Reza Farhad, Softchaos CEO, said that Webstractor’s performance on new Intel-based Macs is between twice and four times faster as it is on PowerPC-based systems.
The 1.6 update also includes fixes for reported issues and enhancements, such as the ability to use a scroll wheel through captured thumbnails.
Webstractor requires Mac OS X v10.3 or later. Some features are restricted to Mac OS X v10.4 “Tiger.”
