Plaxo on Tuesday announced the public beta release of its Plaxo Toolbar Mac OS X. The software is free to download and use now; when it goes final it will also be free to use in its basic form.
Plaxo is designed to be a universal address book that’s accessible from anywhere through Web-enabled devices. It works across platforms, through different applications and on different devices like PDAs.
Plaxo offers custom toolbar applications for Thunderbird, Internet Explorer, Outlook and Outlook Express and AOL Instant Messenger. It also works online through the Web.
The Mac release of Plaxo supports synchronization with Apple’s own Address Book application and works with Mac OS X v10.3 and v10.4, according to the developer.
