Apple’s QuickTime Broadcaster software has been updated for Intel-based Macs in its latest release. The new version is ready for download from Apple’s Web site now.
QuickTime Broadcaster lets you encode video and broadcast it to a local network or the Internet. It lets you use QuickTime 7, H.264 encoding and is scalable, supporting everything from mobile devices that work with the 3GPP standard to desktop computers connected with high bandwidth.
QuickTime Broadcaster integrates with QuickTime Streaming Server and Darwin Streaming Server, can capture video from FireWire-equipped sources and has support for AppleScript, for integration into and automation with a larger workflow.
System requirements call for Mac OS X or Mac OS X Server v10.3.9 or later, a G3, G4, G5 or Intel-based Mac, 128MB RAM, QuickTime 7 or later and 1.0MB hard disk space.
