Parliant Corp. has announced the release of its PhoneValet Message Center 4.0, a major upgrade to the software that drives its telephony system for the Macintosh. PhoneValet costs $169.95 per line, bundled with a USB telephone interface adapter. Version 4 is a free upgrade for users of PhoneValet 3.0 or higher.
New to this release is a Universal Binary that runs natively on both Intel and PowerPC-based Macs. A new automatic call recording feature has been added that let you record all incoming and outgoing calls. A new disc archiving feature lets you burn call logs and audio recordings to CDs and DVDs.
PhoneValet Anywhere — the system’s Web-based multi user system that lets users check their voicemail accounts from any Internet location — now provides unlimited users for network caller ID popups and Web access to the mail log.
Other administrative improvements have been made as well, such as the ability to store call log audio files on external discs, placing audio files into the trash when deleting instead of erasing all together, and more.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later, QuickTime 6.5.3 or higher, available USB port and touch-tone phone service.
