Autodesk has announced
7.5, a new version of its 3D character animation software for Mac OS X and Windows. The new version is now available to MotionBuilder Platinum Members and will be available worldwide in late March 2006. MotionBuilder is priced starting at $4,195.
MotionBuilder is used by game developers to help create 3D characters. The software include a real-time architecture, animation layering, a unified “Story Timeline” development environment, retargeting of animation data and more.
Features included in MotionBuilder’s 7.5 release are new keyframe workflows that help streamline animation. You can edit animation from within the timeline, use a rearchitected Undo system and more.
The software now features better interoperability with other Autodesk software, including 3ds Max and Maya. The 7.5 release also features quicker setup and animation of a wider range of character types with inverse knee and elbow support; easily transfer mirrored poses; quick setups of complex multi-character interactions and more.
