In a joint release from the Musikmesse tradeshow in Frankfurt Germany on Wednesday, Sonoma Wire Works announced that the forthcoming release of its guitar recording software, RiffWorks Standard 2, would include IK Multimedia’s AmpliTube LE.
RiffWorks includes a variety of guitar effects, allowing users to adjust settings to achieve different tones. The application also includes InstantDrummer, a built-in drum loop machine that allows you to adjust settings for intensity and variation.
New features of RiffWorks 2 include RiffLink, which allows users to collaborate on songs online by downloading someone’s riff, adding to it and uploading the riff back to the repository, all within the application. Another new feature, RiffCaster, offers one-click podcasting capabilities.
AmpliTube LE will add a variety of amp models, effects, and a built-in tuner to RiffWorks.
RiffWorks Standard 2 will be Mac OS X compatible with any Core Audio device. It will be available as a universal binary for Intel Macs and has been optimized for Intel SSE and SSE2, according to the company. RiffWorks is currently in beta and will be available soon — pricing has not yet been determined
