Yamaha has introduced a new mobile audio interface targeted to musicians on the move. The GO46 Mobile 24/192 FireWire Audio/MIDI Interface also includes a cross platform software suite from Steinberg.
The GO46 includes two front-mounted combo inputs that feature independently selectable phantom power and gain controls allowing connection of a powered source and a non-powered source simultaneously. This means the GO46 can record a vocal using a condenser microphone and guitar input at the same time. The unit also includes two inserts for adding outboard gear such as compressors, EQ, or effects and a headphone out with independent level control.
The GO46 has a total of four inputs and six outputs with recording resolution up to 24-bit, 192kHz and is bus-powered for mobility. It comes with a complete cross-platform PC/Mac software suite including Cubase LE, Groove Agent SE, HALion SE, Sample Tank SE, Sonic Synth 2 SE, Amplitube LE and T- Racks EQ.
The GO46 also includes DTS and Dolby AC3 playback compatibility for those working in surround.
Announced at the Musikmesse tradeshow in Frankfurt, Germany The GO46 will be available in July 2006 for $439.
