Bag maker WaterField has begun accepting pre-orders for its iPod Hi-Fi Speaker Case, a carrying tote for Apple’s new speaker system. The case costs $149 and will begin shipping on April 18, 2006.
The custom-designed case is made from ballistic nylon, and uses high density foam and YKK locking zippers to protect the iPod Hi-Fi and other equipment inside. Five pockets are included to stow away the iPod and other gear, and a solid plate of impact-resistant plastic protects the iPod Hi-Fi’s front grille and speakers. A shoulder strap lets you sling the iPod Hi-Fi over your shoulder to tote around.
To play the iPod Hi-Fi, you only have to tuck the front flap into the rear of the case behind the speaker; the iPod Hi-Fi can play through the case without having to be removed.
The iPod Hi-Fi Speaker Case will be available in Blue, Lead or Taxi color trim. It measures 19.5 x 8.0 x 8.0 inches.
