Archway Systems on Tuesday announced a partnership with EVOQE srl to bundle Archway’s VersaCAD 2005 software with EVOQE’s SolidThinking FORMA 6.5 3D modeling software. This applies to both Mac and Windows versions of the software.
VersaCAD is a 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) software package, while FORMA provides Non-Uniform Rational B-spline (NURBS)-based 3D modeling capabilities. It’s this functionality, that made the two software applications a good fit, said Archway President Mike Lazear.
“The two companies are very compatible since we each support both Macintosh and Windows,” said Lazear.
Models created in either VersaCAD or FORMA can be opened with the other application, according to the companies.
The bundle costs $795 for new users. Existing VersaCAD users can upgrade by purchasing a Premium Service seat, which costs $595 per year.
