Telestream has announced the forthcoming release of version 2.0 of its
component. The software lets Mac users import video recorded using Sony’s XDCAM professional digital video cameras. It’s coming in the first week of May.
The software lets Final Cut Pro users ingest MXF metadata direction from Sony XDCAM-based production systems. New to this release is support for High Definition (HD) media and low resolution proxies. Final Cut Pro users can now preview clips, make selections, then only import the high resolution files they need for editing.
What’s more, the new component is a Universal Binary with support for Intel-powered Macs.
The current 1.0.2 release costs $495. Telestream did not specify the upgrade path for current users.
