Objective Development on Thursday announced the release of LaunchBar 4.1, a new version of its search utility for Mac OS X. The new release is a free update for registered users. LaunchBar registration starts at $19.95.
LaunchBar searches applications, documents, contacts, bookmarks and other data on your computer and using search engines. You use a command keystroke to invoke the software from any application.
LaunchBar 4.1 features greatly improved search performance — up to twice as fast, according to the developer. New options have been added for opening items, an improved contextual menu has been included, color labels are supported, iTunes support has been enhanced, Address Book support is improved, there are new features including “Search in Spotlight” and “Look Up In Dictionary” and more.
The 4.1 version also includes a new Scripts indexing rule along with a set of built-in utility scripts including Sleep, Shut Down, Append Text, Calculate and more.
