RealNetworks’s RealPlayer media player software is now available as a Universal Binary, to run natively on Intel and PowerPC-based Macs.
RealPlayer is an alternate to Apple’s own QuickTime software. Real offers its own premium service to deliver news, sports, music and other content encoded using the Real software; other premium features include online radio stations, a full-screen theater mode and more.
A free version of RealPlayer 10 is also available; it does not have all the premium features of Real’s “SuperPass” but does allow Mac users to view video encoded using Real’s technology.
System requirements call for a G3 or better, including Intel, and Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later.
