On Wednesday evening, May 10th, E3 Expo, the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) will unveil the third annual Into the Pixel exhibition — an installation of sixteen pieces of video game art selected from a field of more than 150 submissions.
The event happens in the Concourse Foyer at the Los Angeles Convention Center, at 5:30 PM: After the first day of events at E3 Expo — the world’s largest trade show dedicated to video and computer games and related technology. Into the Pixel is open to the public — although access to the show itself is restricted to badge holders. E3 is a trade event and is not open to the general public.
Into the Pixel was judged by a jury panel featuring representatives from both the tradition and digital art worlds. They hail from LACMA, the University of Southern California, the Getty Institute, the Hammer Museum and elsewhere.
