Apple iTunes customers are voicing their displeasure with the company on Tuesday as codes promised to them to purchase tickets to the Red Hot Chili Peppers failed to go out.
In a promotion launched last month, fans that pre-ordered the band’s new album on iTunes were told they would also receive an email with a code that they could use at Ticketmaster.com starting May 9 to purchase concert tickets before they go on sale to the general public on May 13.
One user on Apple’s support Web site said that he received an email from Apple that was supposed to contain the code, but the email was blank. Other frantic users are leaving their cell phone numbers asking other users to text them when they get their code.
Users are even asking others in the same city to buy them tickets if they receive a code.
Apple representatives did not immediately return calls seeking comment for this story.
