ViewSonic used Pepcom’s eFocus event — an annual gathering in Los Angeles that immediately precedes E3 — to impress gamers with its $379 VX2025wm, a 20.1-inch widescreen LCD display.
The VX2025wm, shipping now, features 1680 x 1050 native pixel resolution and 300 -nit brightness with 800:1 contrast ratio. It also touts 8 millisecond (ms) grey-to-grey video response time, which ViewSonic says is ideal for gamers who need a fast refresh rate in order to view action as it happens.
The display features a 15-pin mini D-sub analog video connect and Digital Visual Interface (DVI-D) to support both old and new displays, and it’s Mac and PC-compatible. The display also sports 176 degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles.
The black and chrome display is set on an angular footstand that features a cable guide in its base to help hide power and video cables. It integrates rear stereo speakers and can also be used with a VESA-compatible wall mount.
