Nintendo and Freescale Semiconductor have announced that the venerable
development environment is the official toolset for Nintendo’s forthcoming Wii console.
Freescale’s Radix technology powers the CodeWarrior tools chosen by Nintendo. Radix is billed as “a lightweight c++ framework” with a modular architecture. It features editing, debugging and code browsing, XML-based project management, a scriptable workflow, Windows-native user interface, multi-display support and hot-swappable plug-ins. It also ships with a PowerPC compiler.
