Aspyr Media has announced that their Macintosh conversion of Call of Duty 2 has gone gold master, the final step before the game is sent to replication and shipped to retailers. They expect it to hit stores in the next few days for $49.99. Call of Duty 2 is rated T for Teen by the ESRB.
Call of Duty 2 is the latest installment of Infinity Ward’s World War II-themed first person shooter. The sequel to the original Call of Duty, also ported to the Mac by Aspyr, Call of Duty 2 puts you in the role of different Allied soldiers as they fight back the Nazi menace — in North Africa, during D-Day, and on the Russian front.
Enhancements in this game feature a stunning new graphics engine, dramatically improved artificial intelligence (AI), dynamic weather conditions like snow, rain, fog and smoke, cutting-edge lighting and shadows and other improvements to make the gameplay even more immersive and realistic than before.
Cross-platform multiplayer gaming is supported over the Internet and Local Area Networks (LANs).
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later, G5 or Intel-based Mac (yes, it’s a Universal Binary) 1.8GHz or faster, 512MB, 4.0GB free hard disk space, 64MB VRAM and DVD drive. Internet gaming requires a broadband connection.
Supported video cards include: NVIDIA GeForce 5200, 6600, 6800, 7800; ATI Radeon 9600, 9650, 9700, 9800, X600, X800, X850, X1600.
