Apparel maker Koyono has announced its spring and summer line of outerwear — jackets and coats equipped with integrated iPod controls. Prices range from $199 to $275.
The jackets carry Apple’s “Made for iPod” label. They integrate iPod control pads into the lapels of the jacket, enabling you to control your iPod without ever removing it. Controls include volume, track change and power. Each of the jackets also includes water protection and pocketing for commuting or travel. Inside is a dock connector for attaching a recent-model Apple iPod or iPod nano.
The iPod control pads are made of a “smart fabric” from Eleksen Group called ElekTex. It’s lightweight, flexible and washable, according to Koyono.
The new line includes the short-sleeved BlackCoat Surf Edition; the BlackCoat Sport, a hybrid sport coat; the BlackCoat Work — a hybrid between a jean jacket and a sport coat; and BlackCoat Work Premiere Edition, cut the same as the Blackcoat Work, made from waterproof material.
