Battery Acid Games has announced that they will soon release their game Mountain Tanks. It puts you in the seat of a powerful tank as you seek to destroy your enemy. Up to six people (or computer-controlled players) can play.
Mountain Tanks takes a page from the classic computer game Scorched Earth, as you take turns lobbing rockets, grenades and other explosives at your enemies. But unlike that 2D game, Mountain Tanks is rendered in 3D. You can use defensive tools like smoke screens to obscure your location from the enemy.
Maps are randomly generated with realistic physics. Mountain Tanks supports widescreen displays and will be released as a Universal Binary that runs natively on PowerPC and Intel-based Macs.
Pricing was not announced as Macworld posted this article, but system requirements include Mac OS X v10.3.9, G3/700MHz or faster (including Intel), ATI Rage 128 or Nvidia GeForce 2MX or Intel GMA 950 (suitable for Intel-based Mac minis and MacBooks, in other words). A playable demo is coming as well.
