Aspyr Media on Friday announced that its Macintosh conversion of Call of Duty 2 is now in retail stores. Rated T for Teen by the ESRB, Call of Duty 2 costs $50.
Call of Duty 2 is a World War II-era first person shooter in which you play different Allied soldiers confronting the Nazi onslaught in Europe. You play alternately as Russian, English and American soldiers as you defend cities, visit North Africa and assault occupied territory on D-Day.
The game features a new graphics engine that provides cutting-edge special effects like dynamic weather effects, lighting and shadows, realistic artifcial intelligence (AI), choice-based gameplay and more. What’s more, the game features cross-platform compatible multiplayer capabilities that let you play either as Allied or Axis soldiers.
Call of Duty 2 ships as a Universal Binary compatible with both PowerPC and Intel-based Macs. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later; a G5 or Intel-based Mac 1.8GHz or faster, 512MB RAM, 4.0GB hard disk space, 64MB of VRAM, and one of the following graphics systems: NVIDIA GeForce 5200, 6600, 6800, 7800 ATI Radeon 9600, 9650, 9700, 9800, X600, X800, X850, X1600.
