WiebeTech on Tuesday announced the release of an external Serial ATA (eSATA) version of its ToughTech hard disk drive enclosure. The new drive enclosure costs $89.95 without a drive; it’s available in 250GB – 750GB versions for $268.95 – $754.95 depending on capacity.
ToughTech drives feature shock mounting to protect the drive from vibrations and bumps; the new chassis model is the eSATA equivalent to WiebeTech’s already-available FireWire 400 and FireWire 800 enclosures. The chassis is made of aluminum and works without a fan.
