Geek Cruises and Macworld magazine have finalized the details of the upcoming MacMania 5 cruise. The next cruise will be from October 28 – November 4 and tour the Eastern Caribbean.
Geek Cruises organizes classes during the cruise so Mac users can get together with Macintosh experts to learn more about specific applications or the Mac in general. The organizers also leave plenty of time for play with excursions during port stops and special events for MacMania attendees.
O’Reilly Network Managing Editor, Derrick Story and Macworld Contributing Editor Ben Long will deliver an Images/Photography/Image Editing track will include everything from location shooting techniques to image editing in iPhoto 6.
Other seminar topics to be covered on the cruise include “iPod Add-ons,” “Amazingly Cool Utilities,” “Mac OS X Hints: Top 20 All-time Hints,” “Getting Started with iWork,” “Working with Automator,” “Polish Your Photos in iPhoto,” “iPhoto’s Secrets Unveiled,” “Organize Your Photo Collection,” “A UNIX Guide to OS X,” and more.
Macworld editors Dan Frakes, Rob Griffiths, Kelly Turner and Jason Snell will join Sal Soghoian (Apple’s AppleScript product manager), Leo Laporte and Andy Ihnatko who will all give separate sessions on the cruise.
Cruise prices vary from US$799 for an inside stateroom to $2,049 for a full suite, per person. For those attending the conference, there’s a $795 fee.
