Sony has released another system update to its PlayStation Portable (PSP) handheld gaming console. This update can be downloaded through the Web site and installed using a Mac connected by a USB cable, or can be installed on the PSP using its Wi-Fi-based Internet connectivity or the PSP’s built-in Network Update function.
The update, specifically for customers who bought a PSP sold in North America — includes network enhancements. Using the Internet Browser feature, for example, game demos can now be downloaded and saved on memory stick.
And when used with a Sony LocationFree Base Station — a multimedia hub that makes it possible for you to watch video from a wireless networked computer or PSP — the PSP can now display video correctly when an external tuner is selected. Sony advises that this issue affects LocationFree Base Stations sold in North America, Taiwan and Korea only.
