Ambrosia Software has announced the release of WireTap Pro v1.2.0, a new version of their audio recording software for Mac OS X. New in this release is Intel Mac compatible, though it’s not as of yet a Universal Binary. A free update for registered users, WireTap Pro costs $19.
WireTap Pro lets you record audio from your Mac, whether it’s from a running application, mic or line-in source. You can save in MP3, AAC, QuickTime and AIFF file formats and transfer files to iTunes and onto the iPod. WireTap Pro also lets you customize file settings like compression and recording quality.
Ambrosia indicated that WireTap Pro 1.2.0 has been tested to be compatible with Rosetta, the technology that lets Intel-based Macs run PowerPC software. “Performance is excellent,” Ambrosia reported.
Fixes have also been made for the available source records in AppleScript and Automator actions, the Mac OS X Finder is now always present in the processing application popup; and bugs that would cause the preprocessor field to go black or file choosing sheets to get stuck have now been fixed.
