XtremeMac said on Tuesday that it will ship its MicroMemo audio recorder for the iPod in early July. The device will cost $59.95.
XtremeMac first unveiled the MicroMemo this past January at Macworld Expo in San Francisco. At the time the company said it would cost $80, so the lower price is welcome news indeed.
The MicroMemo attaches to the fifth-generation iPod’s dock connector and features a detachable, omnidirectional micro[hone and built-in speaker. The device records 16-bit audio in either high or low quality. The mic can be detached from its 3.5mm port, and you can use that connection either for the mic or as a line-in connection.
Once it’s attached, the MicroMemo activates the iPod’s recording menus and displays recording time on screen.
