Pacific Design on Tuesday announced the GrandStand, a new case for fifth-generation (video-capable) iPods. The $39.95 iPod case integrates a desk stand and other features.
Made of Lexan, polyurethane and leather, the GrandStand provides a clear cover for the iPod’s display that also reduces glare so you can see the screen clearly. The case comes in five colors — Carbon Black, Rich Brown, Precious Pink, Leaf Green and Turquoise.
The flip-style case lets you use the iPod on the go, and it comes with a soft clip that attaches to the back of the GrandStand and lets you attach to a belt, backpack strap or purse. But what makes the GrandStand different is its ability to fold out to create a stable tripod stand, enabling you to prop up the iPod on your desk or tray table to view it without having to hold it.
