MacPractice has added support for Synca Direct’s Cadi dental imaging software for users of its MacPractice DDS software, dental practice management software for Mac OS X.
Cadi is, at least for now, Windows-only, so the system works on Intel-based Macs using Parallels’ Desktop virtual machine software, which allows an Intel-based Mac to run the Windows XP Professional operating system alongside Mac OS X, inside of a window.
MacPractice DDS and Cadi work simultaneously and integrate, according to MacPractice. MacPractice can be used to open or create a new patient chart in Cadi; Cadi then provides dentists wtih the ability to record digital radiography and cosmetic imaging data that’s linked to the patient records in MacPractice.
In a press release announcing the news, MacPractice DDS’s developers said they’re presently qualifying digital radiography systems, and have checked off OpTime and ScanX phosphor plate systems, Schick, PlanMeca and Sorana sensors, and several Panoramic systems.
