Bare Bones Software has updated its utility Super Get Info to version 1.3. New to this version is Universal Binary support for Intel and PowerPC-based Macs. It’s a free update for registered users; Super Get Info costs $20.
Super Get Info is an alternative to Mac OS X’s built-in “Get Info” command. Using a tabbed interface, the software lets users view and edit type and creator codes and Unix owner, group and permission settings and change a file’s creation and modification date. It’s accessible from Mac OS X’s Finder and can also be accessed from the command line.
The new 1.3 release also features Apple Filing Protocol (AFP) support, so users can change folder and file permissions and ownership on AppleShare server volumes. Bare Bones has made maintenance fixes as well.
