Apple now has until August 1, 2006 to respond to complaints from consumer rights protection agencies in Denmark, Norway and Sweden,
Reuters reports . The agencies moved the deadline from its original date, June 21, 2006.
Norway’s Consumer Ombudsman has stated that Apple’s terms of service for its iTunes Music Store
violate Norwegian consumer protection law, putting customers at a severe disadvantage. The agencies said that Apple may be required to make changes to its customer contracts in order to comply.
Government officials in Denmark and Sweden are watching the case with interest — all three nations share very similar consumer laws.
