Mariner Software on Thursday announced the release of a public beta version of Montage, their forthcoming screenwriting software for the Mac. A fully functioning beta trial copy can be downloaded; users can also buy the software now for $99.95 (the serial number you receive will work with the final version).
Montage features a live script outline, view of characters, locations, tasks, research and other features. The software includes templates for film, television and theater that automatically format the script. A feature called “Smart Views” lets you visually filter the script based on criteria you define.
Montage also includes info management functions for screenwriters — you can use it to create submit and track query letters, script synopses, and script submissions to contacts.
Montage also supports importing from the popular Final Draft screenwriting product.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3 or later. Montage is available as a Universal Binary that’s compatible with Intel and PowerPC-based Macs.
