MacSpeech has announced the release of iListen 1.7, a new version of its speech recognition program for Mac OS X. iListen costs $99. Upgrades from iListen 1.6 are $39. A version bundled with a noise-canceling microphone sells for $149.
iListen lets Mac users dictate into Mac applications and control their Macs with spoken commands. MacSpeech also sells “ScriptPaks,” speech control for specific applications.
New to this release is Universal Binary support for Intel or PowerPC-based Macs. Improvements include faster training and better accuracy; improved voice commands and support for multiple user accounts. Several bug fixes and other minor enhancements and cosmetic improvements have also been made.
