The Sound Guy has released Universal Binary versions of SFX Machine RT and SFX Machine Pro, its audio effects software for Mac OS X applications. SFX Machine RT and SFX Machine Pro carry list prices of $99 and $199, respectively — the company is running a special $25 off deal through the end of June.
Billed as “Swiss Army Knives” of sound design, SFX Machine plug-ins are VST and Audio Unit-compatible audio plugins that act as effects processors. You can use them to add a variety of effects to existing sounds or create entirely new ones. Hundreds of presets are built-in. SFX Machine Pro adds a modular synthesis editor, output limiter, more presets and a different interface.
In addition to Universal Binary support to run natively on PowerPC and Intel-based Macs, SFX Machine Pro 1.0.1 also features a bug fix for systems running under MOTU’s Digital Performer.
The updates are free for existing users.
