The MathWorks on Wednesday announced the release of SimHydraulics, a physical modeling tool that simulates hydraulic control systems. It’s made for the aerospace, defense and automotive industries. It costs $4,000 and is available for Mac OS X, Windows, UNIX and Linux.
SimHydraulics joins other specialized modeling systems from The MathWorks like SimPowerSystems, SimMechanics and SimDriveline. It models and simulates the conversion of hydraulic power into driving torques and forces for mechanical motion. It also provides a library of common hydraulic fluids and more.
