Inspiration Software on Thursday announced that its Inspiration and Kidspiration software is now available as Universal binaries that run natively on both Intel and PowerPC-based Macs. Free updates are available for download from the Web site.
Developed as visual learning software tools to help kids and adults alike brainstorm, clarify their thoughts, organize and analyze information, think critically and integrate new knowledge. Both Kidspiration and Inspiration cost $69.
The new versions of Inspiration 8 and Kidspiration 2 provide “a significant increase in performance” on Intel macs, according to Inspiration Software President Mona Westhaver. Inspiration claims that starting the applications and exporting documents to MS Word format is 60 percent faster, for example.
