Russound on Tuesday announced the release of the iBridge Dock kit, a device that connects Apple iPods to Russound-brand multi-room audio systems. The iBridge Dock Kit is available in a kit with the Russound RNET A/V Decoder for $599.
Russound is one of several companies that home theater and home entertainment integration specialists use to create multi-room audio systems for their clients. With the iBridge Dock, Russound sound system users can connect their iPods for remote listening.
Not only does the Bridge Dock kit transmit audio throughout the system, it also shows metadata like artist name, track name and album information on the keypads that control the audio. The dock also recharges the iPod’s battery.
The system is compatible with Russound CAA66 and CAS44 Controller Amplifiers and A-BUS multiroom audio systems. It’s controllable by remote control or using infrared (IR) keypads. More than one iBridge Dock can be used, and they can be placed up to 300 feet away from the controller, connected using CAT 5 cable.
Five well adapters are included to fit different iPod models.
