Lost Sock Games on Thursday announced the release of Kakuro Quest, a new casual game for logic puzzle enthusiasts who are looking for a new challenge.
Kakuro, or Cross Sums, is different from Sudoku — the puzzles more closely resemble crosswords. You use numbers between 1 and 9 to fill in all the blank squares in the grid so that the numbers you enter add up to the corresponding clues. Grids grow from 7 x 7 to 10 x 12.
Kakuro Quest features unlimited Kakuro puzzles; a “Quest” mode that takes you through map play and increasing difficulty; the ability to print out puzzles on paper; four board sizes to choose from; three levels of difficulty; number combos show for each clue; and player profile saving so the whole family can play.
The game is available for download now through Macgamestore.com and costs $19.95. A free demo is available. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2 or later.
