Following a public beta release in June, Mariner Software has announced the release of Montage, a new screenwriting application made exclusively for Mac OS X. Montage costs $139.95.
Montage presents users with a live script outline, a view of scenes, characters, locations, tasks, research and more. Several pre-formatted templates are included for screenwriters developing content for film, television and theater. Montage features “Smart Views,” which let users visually filter the script to the desired content based on specific criteria.
Montage is more than just a word processor for screenwriting, however — it also helps writers create, submit and track query letters, build a script synopsis, and manage script submissions to hundreds of included industry contacts.
You can also use Montage to import content from Final Draft, text and Rich Text Format (RTF) documents.
Montage requires Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later and is a Universal binary that runs natively on Intel and PowerPC-based Macs. System requirements call for a G4 or better, 128MB RAM and 20MB hard disk space.
A 30 day trial version is available for download.
