Kerio Technologies on Tuesday announced the release of Kerio MailServer 6.2, a new version of its groupware mail server for Mac OS X v10.4. The new release is a Universal binary that runs natively on Intel and PowerPC-based Macs. It starts at $499 for 20 users.
Kerio Mailserver provides multi-domain mail service for POP and IMAP desktop mail clients. Created as an alternative to Microsoft’s expensive Exchange server software, Kerio Mailserver can also be used for contact management and calendar synchronization — it supports Apple Mail, iCal, Address Book, Microsoft Entourage and more.
A Web-based client is also available; recently updated, the client has added support for Asynchronous Javascript and XML (AJAX), and is optimized for Safari and Firefox — a Mini version even runs on PDAs.
