Other World Computing (OWC) on Wednesday introduced a new Serial ATA (SATA) controller card for Power Mac systems equipped with PCI and PCI-X expansion slots. The card costs $49.95.
OWC’s new card is a 32-bit controller that features internal and external SATA ports. It’s a two-channel card, enabling you to use two devices simultaneously (you can either use two internal, two external, or one internal and one external at the same time).
The card supports mirroring and striping, and will work with Mac OS 8.6 through Mac OS X. Drives attached to the card are bootable and it works with volumes larger than 137GB.
