TLA Systems has released an update to PCalc, their calculator application for Mac OS X. A free update for registered users of versions 2 and 3, PCalc costs $19 for a single-user license (it’s $10 as an introductory offer).
PCalc is a scientific calculator that includes hexadecimal, octal and binary calculation functions, Reverse Polish Notation (RPN), parentheses, programmable functions and unit conversions. The software also includes a Tiger Dashboard widget.
The update adds AppleScript support — you can also write your own functions and unit conversions in AppleScript. Version 3.1 also adds engineering notation support to the application and Dashboard widget. It also adds a new calculator style to the app which makes it look like the Dashboard widget.
PCalc requires Mac OS X v10.4.2 or later.
