The Macworld Podcast returns to the high seas—the Western Mediterranean, in this case—with a guest host. I’m filling in for regular podcast host Cyrus Farivar, as I hitch a ride aboard the ms Noordam for MacMania 4.5. For this special edition of the Macworld Podcast, I spend some time with one of my fellow MacMania presenters, AppleScript and Automator project manager Sal Soghoian.
Long-time listeners will realize that this is Sal’s second visit to the Macworld Podcast; Cyrus first interviewed him back in Macworld Podcast #15. Sal’s back to talk about AppleScripting and OS X’s Automator automation feature; we also chat about some highlights of the MacMania cruise since the ship departed from Rome.

Show Notes
Sal mentions a few scripting and Automator Web sites in the podcast, including his own; other sites to check out include MacScripter and Automator World. I also mention a good source for iTunes AppleScripts: Doug’s AppleScripts for iTunes.
You can read more about Automator—which won a 2005 Editors’ Choice Award —at Macworld ’s Automator topic page. I would recommend our December 2005 feature, Make Automator Work for You.
