WiebeTech on Wednesday introduced the ToughTech XE external hard disk drive enclosure. With prices starting at $119.95, the ToughTech XE features external Serial ATA (eSATA), dual FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 interfaces.
The ToughTech XE works with Macs or PCs and features “FlexMount” shock absorbing protection that protects the drive mechanism from vibration and bumps. The drive uses Oxford Semiconductors’ Oxford 924 bridge to connect to the computer.
ToughTech XE is available in a user-configurable (no hard drive) version for $119.95. Other configurations include a 250GB, 500GB and 750GB drive for $252.95, $455.95 and $784.95 respectively.
