Neuros Technology’s MPEG Recorder 2 is a tiny “digital VCR,” enabling you to record live television and analog video streams directly to a Compact Flash or Memory Stick card. Now Neuros has introduced their Recorder 2 Plus, which adds support for SD, miniSD, microSD and MMC memory cards. It costs $159.99.
The Neuros product is particularly handy for Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) users who want to watch video or television, as it can write content directly to the Memory Stick Duo cards those devices use to store content on. But if you have a card reader hooked up to your Mac, built-in software on the MPEG4 Recorder 2 and Recorder 2 Plus can also optimize the video for the video iPod, making it possible to just rip video to a memory card, read it on your Mac and sync it to your iPod.
The devices also can record video optimized for the Motorola Q smartphone, Treo 700W, Razr v3 and many other devices.
