ProfCast, a tool for recording lectures and creating enhanced podcasts, has added support for new iTunes categories in its latest version. Plus, a public beta of the next major release is also available, according to ProfCast maker Humble Daisy.
ProfCast is designed to record and distribute lectures and presentations as podcasts. To that end, the software allows users to include PowerPoint and Keynote slides along with recorded lectures.
The version released by Humble Daisy Monday brings ProfCast to version 1.5.1; however, a beta of version 2.0 is now available. The beta adds a new podcast manger, saves a local copy of all podcasts, and includes support for ID3 Tags and WebDav support. Version 2.0 of ProfCast also includes the ability to integrate a screen capture into a recorded enhanced podcast as well as support for Creative Commons licensing
ProfCast 1.5.1 is
available online for a limited time for $25. Volume discounts and site licenses are available upon request. ProfCast 2.0 will be a free upgrade to all registered users of ProfCast 1.5.
