Hot on the heels of Quark’s release of QuarkXPress 7 for Intel-based Macs, the company has announced the release of a free 30-day evaluation version of its flagship page layout and desktop publishing software. It’s available for Mac OS X and Windows.
QuarkXPress 7 features numerous enhancements to the software such as improvements to help designers, like transparency and drop shadows. It also includes dramatic workflow enhancements, such as Job Jackets, which lets you specify a large group of attributes that are attached to documents and projects; and the Composition Zone, an area in the layout tha you can use in multiple documents or that another user can work on simultaneously.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.4 or later, G4 or faster, 128MB RAM. The full version of QuarkXPress costs $749.
