Apple has posted a security update for its new Mac Pro and Mac OS X Server v10.4.7.
The update is recommended for all Mac Pro systems running Mac OS X v10.4.7 (build 8K1079), and systems running Mac OS X Server v10.4.7 (Universal), according to Apple.
The security update improves the security of ImageIO and OpenSSH.
The fix to ImageIO prevents a problem that could cause an application to crash or arbitrary code to be executed when viewing a maliciously-crafted TIFF image. The update performs additional validation of TIFF images, according to Apple.
The OpenSSH fix prevents a denial of service when remote login is enabled and a nonexistent account causes the authentication process to hang. The update properly handles attempted logins by nonexistent users.
