CRYPTOCard on Thursday announced a new Universal Binary version of its two factor authentication software, CRYPTO-Server 6.4. The program allows users to log in securely using strong dynamic authentication for local, Web, or remote system access. CRYPTO-Server 6.4 is designed to protect LAN, VPN, web-based (Apache and II S), and desktop access for Mac OS X version 10.4.
Other improvements in version 6.4 include a new and faster machine to machine architecture, a new software token for BlackBerry handsets allowing remote users logging into a corporate network via VPN to use a BlackBerry for two-factor authentication, USB Dongle support for Intel-based Macs, and a client-based “Disconnected Authentication” feature that will keep a mobile user’s laptop protected even when disconnected from the server.
Pricing starts at $499 for 5 user kit, with volume pricing available for enterprise versions. The company says it expects a shipping version will be available in approximately two to three weeks.
